Random stuff of the morning
Worked out at this gym for the first time doing climbing specific stuff. I did a stairmaster thingy, where the steps come at you on a belt type thing. I climbed 84 flights of stairs in 20 minutes. I had to ease up mid run because my legs wore out, but I didn't do too bad. I think that in no time I'll be able to charge on through 20 minutes worth at a pretty good clip. 100 flights in 10 minutes is my short term goal.

I shaved at the gym this morning. Interesting experience, shaving in public.

I just got a call on the Mercedes. Guy wants to look at it after work tonight. I'm excited.

The Volvo is running very well lately. I think I've worked out a lot of bugs and come up with a pretty solid car now. I'm contemplating keeping it. Although, I don't have a place to store it. It needs to go away, so I'll end up selling it on the cheap.

I've been posting like mad on slashdot lately. basicly, trying to pimp webhosting.
So far it's working out, although it'll be May until I see the money, it should buy me a nice camera for the boomershoot.

What, you're selling the Mercedes already? And getting rid of the 240...so, what'll be your preferred mode of transportation?

Going to sell the Mercedes and buy a Jeep Wrangler.

Then, probably going to give the Volvo to someone on the cheap, or free.

Make: Volvo
Model: 245 DL
Engine: 2.1 Litre B21
Trans: 4 Speed +OD
Condition: Still mostly in one piece.

It's a pile of crap, really. It rattles and tries to come apart on a regular basis. Mostly because of getting it to places like where that pics was taken. Up near the summit of the Oregon Coastal range. :)

No, I don't still have the Virgos on it. They are sold.

Roof rack is a Thule.

It's got unknown milage on everything on the car because of speedo swaps in the past. (Came with a GT dash when I got it, and I put in a different dash when that one failed. So that's 2 swaps I know of.)

The cat is gutted, and I tossed a flowmaster muffler and new tailpipe on the back.

The shift boot isn't attached any more, and shifting in general is loose and annoyingly inaccurate.

Fuel milage is getting better, but is still poor. The engine is tired and has led a hard life. But I've got it to nearly 20 MPG now on the freeway, so that's much better.

I don't think it'd pass DEQ, especially with the missing cat. Good chance it would though. I've passed a 1979 Volvo 242 with no working cat through DEQ before.

With all that said, I'd have no second thoughts about turning that car east and driving it anywhere on this landmass. I'd drive it right now to florida, and not worry about it breaking down.

I think it's a solid driver. But it'd best serve as a working parts car, or a restoration point for someone.

Wow, that has to be the longest reply to a comment on my journal, EVER!
